October Beauty Favourites

This year is flying by, it will soon be Christmas! Everyones favourite time of the year! But first, here is a round up of all things beauty from October...

This makes my hair feel soft and improves the appearance of the ends, although I'm not sure it is doing any actual repairing to my hair I do enjoy how it makes my hair look. I also really like the smell and can definitely tell when I haven't used it. Comparable to moroccan oil which I have had in the past - but I think I prefer this one. (You can also often find it on websites with discount codes - I managed to get 30% off, making it a little less painful on the bank account. *score*)

I am a sucker when new lip products are released. I saw good things about these and thought I should give them a go. I opted for the bright 'Fuschia Flourish' (which I believe is featured in the advert) and I absolutely love it. The formula goes on opaque and non-sticky and really leaves a stain on the lips, I wore it on the way to Ibiza and the colour was still visible when we got there. Already told all of my friends to try these!

Givenchy Dahlia Divin

This was a naughty happy birthday to me present last month in duty free. This has quickly become one of my favourite scents. I don't even want to attempt to describe it, so here is its official description...

Like an Haute Couture gown this golden fragrance envelopes with its divine golden hues for a lasting enchanting memory. Dahlia Divin makes its perfumery debut with notes of golden fruit; Mirabelle Plum. Entwined with the aroma of a bouquet of white flowers, highlighted by Jasmine like a ray of pure light. The fragrance develops fully with the rich alluring woody tones of Sandalwood for a strikingly delightful aura.

Staple autumn/winter nail colour - I love dark nail polishes and this is a perfect combination of purple/red and black!

What are your october favourites?

A few recent purchases...

I don't buy clothes too often but I have found a few things in the past month that I love and thought I would share! Warning: mainly topshop, oops!

1. Super Cosy Jumper - F + F at Tesco. I love this jumper with jeans for a casual look and with a pencil skirt for work!

2. Bianca Boots - Miss KG at Kurt Geiger.  I initially went into Kurt Geiger with other boots in mind, then I saw these babies! I like the fact that they're quite chunky and all of the buckles. They go with pretty much everything - day or night!

3.  Faux Leather Pencil Skirt - Topshop. I was debating between a pencil skirt or mini skirt in leather, but saw this and thought it would be perfect for a night out. I recently wore it with the top below and pointy nude courts.

4. Black Lace Top - Topshop. I saw a friend wearing this and rushed to get it. So simple, but effective. I like items that can be both casual and dressed up for a night out.

5. Gingham Skirt - Topshop. This has to be my favourite purchase. So, 90's Clueless. I just love it, I intend to wear this today with thick black tights black patent flats and a grey jumper.

What's In My Handbag...?

I absolutely love WIMH posts, I'm not sure why, perhaps I'm just incredibly nosey. So here is mine!

My handbag is the Zara mini city bag, just big enough to fit in your everyday essentials. Usual handbag culprits include: umbrella, gloves, diary, magazine, keys, metro pass, ipod, a flyer for West Side Story and the beauty junk...

L-R Collection lasting perfection concealer, Bobbi Brown full coverage face brush, Mac studio fix powder, Soap & Glory body butter, Tom Ford lipstick in Sable Smoke, Mac huggable lipcolour in love beam, Clarins instant light lip perfector in 002 and Champneys glass nail file.

What do you carry around on a daily basis?

Mac Huggable Lipcolour - Love Beam

On Friday, after another long week at work I decided to treat myself with a visit to the Mac store. I had already decided that I definitely needed a new lipstick....

In store I was greeted by the new Huggable Lipcolour stand, they are lovely bright lipsticks with a gorgeous glossy finish. According to the Mac website they are also said to stay 'bright and luminous for up to 6 hours.'

After swatching most of the colours I decided to go for 'Love Beam' a beautiful rosy pink. It has a sheer, glossy finish meaning it will be great for both daytime and nights out.

2013 reflections

2013 proved to be one of the best and most exciting years so far, here are just a some of the moments that made it memorable...

January saw the birth of my gorgeous nephew; life would definitely not be the same without him now! I've never been a 'baby person' but now I honestly look forward to every moment I get to spend with him and seeing him grow up - its hard to believe he will soon be 1!

2013 also saw me complete my degree and graduate with a 2.1.  I owe a wonderful three years to my beautiful housemates and music babes, I could be here forever listing the fun times we had together. The highlight however, has to be graduation. It was the most amazing day followed by a final night out with all of my friends, how I miss them all now! I must see them all soon, please.

I was lucky enough to enjoy two holidays this summer - Italy and Marbella. Both were equally as entertaining and enjoyable, with the best company. I love the sun and am currently in the process of booking this years holiday with friends to Greece and hopefully a few getaways to Berlin/Paris/Salzburg!

Moving back home was one of the hardest things I've had to do, the lack of independence and uncertainty about what I was supposed to do next certainly left me feeling a little lacklustre. However, it hasn't been as bad I was initially expecting; I was very lucky to find a job quite quickly and have supportive parents who look after me and even provide my packed lunch..(Yes, I am 23..)

Finally, there were too many nights out to mention, days full of shopping, lovely meals and hilarious moments that made it an entirely cracking year.
Although I'm not sure what 2014 will have in store, I can only hope I make it as enjoyable as the year just past!

Welcome to 2014

Wishing you all a very happy New Year! Hopefully, you had a wonderful festive period and an equally excellent new year's eve celebration.

After a brief hiatus - I am fully intending to attempt to get back into blogging on a *fingers crossed* fairly frequent basis. With a full time job it may be tricky, but hopefully something creative might be helpful in my quest for an exciting life!

So here is my official comeback!

Here's to some exciting times ahead...
